About

Hello, my name is Jeremiah VanderHelm.

I’m a graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a Bachelor’s degree in Film, Television, and Media and a passion for writing about movies, whether they’re B-grade genre schlock or Oscar-caliber awards contenders. I wrote for The Michigan Daily for over two and a half years in order to further my skills as a film critic, and in that time I became one of their most prolific contributors with over a hundred pieces published. Over the years, my writing has been called “a combination of bewilderment and sass” and “the work of a brilliant lunatic,” and while I prefer “conversational yet knowledgeable,” I’ll take what I can get.

Here you’ll find my work after leaving the Daily as well as an archive of the articles I wrote there. If you like what you see, feel free to follow me on Twitter (@Jeremiah_VH) or contact me using the option in the sidebar.

Hope you enjoy!
